The seminar had an excellent presentation on how Healthy diets improve cardiovascular health on
the population level by Professor Pekka Puska, current
Director General of the National Institute for Health and Welfare
in Finland (THL). In the past Prof. Puska was the Director and
Principal Investigator of the North Karelia Project, which is
widely seen as a model for successful population based prevention
of cardiovascular and other noncommunicable diseases (NCD).
